Skillpoint Alliance, a Central Texas-based nonprofit established in 1994, provides free, grant-funded training programs in HVAC, plumbing, electrical and advanced manufacturing. In February 2023, Skillpoint expanded its manufacturing program to San Marcos to help develop the local talent pipeline for manufacturing companies. Skillpoint serves students who are living below the poverty level and provides free, fast training in high-demand careers to help move students out of poverty. In addition to free training, Skillpoint provides wraparound supportive services to students including transportation assistance, resume and interview preparation, and employment search assistance.
