What are ABA Services? Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientific approach that focuses on behavior change in a positive and meaningful way by using researched and evidenced based methods. These ABA methods are intended to support individuals with autism spectrum disorders in many ways:
--to increase acquisition behaviors and to teach new skills --to reduce interfering behaviors that may impede on learning new skills --to generalize or transfer behavior from one environment or response to another.
The ultimate goal of ABA is for the learner to gain independence by learning and developing new skills resulting in an increase in positive behavior while reducing the frequency of negative behaviors.
