I have two businesses. My first business is a medical practice. I am an orthopedic surgeon who lives in San Marcos, and the name of my practice is Lone Star Orthopedics, P.A. After hurricane Katrina, I relocated to the San Marcos area in 2005. I graduated summa cum laude from Tulane in Biology with honors in Latin, graduated from Tulane School of Medicine in 1988 and was elected to AOA Honor Medical Society, completing my orthopedic residency with Baylor-Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center in Houston. I practice general orthopedics, and specialize in worker’s compensation. I am a DWC-certified designated doctor, practicing efficient evidence-based medicine. My second business is conservation of our river ecosystem and historic properties. ANY town can give tax incentives! Many have universities. Bringing eco-friendly business to SM is about quality of life. I want to see my Chamber show that the river, greenspace, and culture are very important for attracting business.
