Communications & PR Manager

The San Marcos Area Chamber is seeking an innovative and energetic person to coordinate marketing and communications activities to get the word out about all of the BENEFITS, EVENTS and SERVICES offered by the Chamber.

The Chamber exists to provide advocacy and connections to help businesses thrive!

The successful candidate for this position must have:
-Graphic design skills
-Excellent communication skills
-Intermediate computer skills
-Marketing expertise
-Innovative and strategic thinking
-Ability to handle multiple on-going projects with shifting deadlines!
-Bachelors degree in Mass Communications, Marketing, PR, or related field preferred.
-At least 2 years previous experience in a related position is preferred.
-Video and photography skills preferred.

Duties of this position include:
-Website and blog maintenance.
-Email marketing and segmentation.
-Social media content creation.
-Tracking of analytics for marketing activities.
-Press release writing and dissemination.
-Graphic design of event flyers, programs, etc.
-Internal relations: board of directors, members, volunteers.
-External relations: local and state government agencies, schools/university.
-Serve as a staff liaison on chamber committees.
-Assist with planning and implementation of special events.
-Other duties as assigned.

Salary: up to $60,000 depending on qualifications
