Join us on Saturday, April 8th from 7:00 - 10:00PM at Mochas & Javas new LBJ location (at 700 N. LBJ Dr. #100) for an all-inclusive evening of extravagant food, beverages, and music in support of the GM1 Foundation, "A Cure for Clara" campaign, and Clara Bragg's 3rd Birthday! 100% of our ticket sales & VIP Sponsorships will be donated to fund the cure!
Clara Bragg is the 2½ year-old daughter of Jenny Habingreither Bragg, who is from San Marcos, and Ryan Bragg, a Texas State graduate. She is also the niece of Hays County Commissioner Will Conley and his wife Erin. Last August, Clara was diagnosed with GM1 Gangliosidosis, an extremely rare terminal neurological disease that causes children to deteriorate as quickly as they develop. GM1 can lead to blindness, deafness, seizures, inability to move or self-feed, and is ultimately fatal. There is, however, hope for Clara. Alabama researchers at Auburn University have successfully cured animals with this disease; now they need funds to take the cure to an FDA-sanctioned human trial. Without this treatment, Clara will slowly fade away and likely die before her 10th birthday. (To read more on GM1 and Clara’s story, visit www.ACureforClara.com)
By supporting this event, you will help give children like Clara a chance to live full lives, as well as support groundbreaking medical history. This therapy is the only case of a fatal genetic disease being cured in the lab, and if successful at trial could eradicate GM1 from existence and be used to treat other childhood diseases there-after.
All of us here at Mochas & Javas have joined the fight and reach out to you now in hopes that you will partner with us and support the “A Cure for Clara” campaign. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for the Cure GM1 Foundation to fund the cure.
Tickets may be purchased both in advance and at the door. If you or your organization would like to be a VIP Sponsor of our event, please feel free to contact me directly: grace@mochasandjavas.com
