* Live Music * Raffle * Silent Auction * Great Food * Kids’ Activities * AND More… San Marcos Plaza Park on the banks of the San Marcos River, in San Marcos, Texas. Bring your lawn chair, sunscreen and outdoor toys and come enjoy a day of live music, food and fun for everyone. Come kick-off the summer and help us honor the memory of Jeffrey “Yappo” Boruff, one of the dedicated volunteers that made a real difference working side-by-side with the professionals at the epicenter of this effort in Rancho Nuevo, Mexico. The Bi-national project represents one of the most successful endangered species recovery efforts ever undertaken. This extraordinary four-decade effort has brought the turtles back from the brink of extinction through the dedicated work of both professionals and volunteers. Funding to support this important project is more important than ever. In its first three years, YappoPalooza has served as a springboard for fundraising that has resulted in over $200,000 to sustain the program as it has suffered from decreased funding at the state and federal level. It has also highlighted the importance of volunteerism in driving successful conservation projects. Be part of the success and volunteer for the 4th Annual YappoPalooza. YappoPalooza informational flyer available for reproduction and distribution. Tax-deductible donations can be mailed to: Jeff Boruff “Sea Turtle” Memorial Fund c/o Gladys Porter Zoo, Attn: Dr. Pat Burchfield 500 Ringgold Street, Brownsville, TX 78520 All funds and donations will directly benefit the Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle Conservation Project
