SUMMARY:Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol
DESCRIPTION:Wimberley Players Present Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol\n\nBoth Live + Streamed Performances\n\n \n\nTom Mula's play\, Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol\, opens on the Wimberley Players stage November 26 and runs through December 12.\n\n\n\nAn entertaining twist on Charles Dicken's A Christmas Carol\, this tale is written from Jacob Marley's point of view. Marley\, a mean\, sour\, pruney old man\, is condemned to eternity with a malicious little hell-sprite named Bogle. But Marley is given a chance to free himself. If he can redeem Scrooge\, a man he knew to be worse than he was\, he can save himself. With only 24 hours to the deadline the stakes are high. And so begins a journey of laughter and terror\, redemption and renewal during which Scrooge's heart is opened but not before Marley\, in this irreverent\, funny\, and deeply moving story\, discovers his own.\n\n\n\nWritten by award-winning actor\, director and playwright\, Tom Mula\, Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol became an instant classic. It played for two seasons at Chicago's Goodman Theatre and the show was nominated for four Joseph Jefferson Awards and received an After Dark Award and the Goodman School of Drama's Cunningham Prize for Playwriting. The play has since been performed to rave reviews and standing ovations in theatres across the U.S. For seven seasons\, it has been broadcast nationally on NPR. For many\, it is a holiday tradition.\n\n\n\nThe cast\, who each play multiple characters\, includes Greg Dew as Jacob Marley\, Roxanne Strobel as The Bogle\, Melinda Ellisor as Scrooge\, and Ronald Lessane as The Record Keeper. Directed by Trish Rigdon\, the Executive Producer is Adam Witko. Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service\, Inc.\, New York.\n\n\n\nNov. 26 Dec. 12\, 2021\n\nThree Weekends\; Nine Performances\, both Live and Streaming.\n\nFridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM\, Sundays at 2:30 PM.\n\nReserved seating $22\; Student tickets $18 with ID.
